DESIGNER WAYNE HEMINGWAY TO KICKSTART SHEFFIELD RETAIL WEEK
Pro-Sheffield and Business Link Yorkshire have organised Sheffield Retail Week – a packed programme of speakers, seminars, a fashion show and networking events. The week kicks off on Wednesday 9 September with a keynote speech by top English designer Wayne Hemingway.
Wayne will speak at Business Link Yorkshire’s ‘Be Inspired’ event in central Sheffield from 6pm to 8pm at Q-Park Charles Street, the new city centre car park with an eye-catching façade. This will be transformed into a design-themed venue with an array of entertainment including a fashion show organised by Pro-Sheffield – the organisation which promotes Sheffield companies to organisations looking to invest in the region. The fashion show will showcase Sheffield’s clothing design talent.
With wife Gerardine, Wayne Hemingway built up Red or Dead into a label that received global acclaim – it won the prestigious British Fashion Council’s Streetstyle Designer of the Year Award for an unprecedented three consecutive years in 1996, 1997 and 1998.
Organised with Pro Sheffield and supported by Creative Sheffield – the dedicated marketing function for city image and brand Sheffield - Sheffield Retail Week will showcase and support the region’s retail industry bringing together designers, retailers, hairdressers, entrepreneurs, professional services and business support organisations.
On Monday 14 September, the inspiring story of Starbucks will be the main event with Starbucks finance director Mark Hulley - who was born and raised in Mexborough - discussing the reasons behind the success of the renowned coffee company.
