Pro Sheffield: Who's Who
Pro Sheffield is managed by a Board of Directors drawn from professional firms in the Sheffield City Region who are all actively involved with the development of Pro Sheffield. They all hold senior positions within their firms and are both well known and respected members of the F&P Services Sector.
Tony Goulbourn - Chairman
Tony has led the South Yorkshire Investment Fund for the last five years. Prior to this, he was the Chief Executive of a Training and Enterprise Council for 10 years. During this period he worked closely with the DTI on a series of initiatives supporting businesses which ranged from management development; innovation and technology and was an original member of the Business Link Strategy Development group. Prior to this he spent 20 years in the Civil Service working in a range of Government Departments including: The Treasury; The Cabinet Office, Social Security, Employment and Manpower Services Commission.
Andrew Coates - Deputy Chairman / Company Secretary
Andrew established Strategic Corporate Finance in 2000 and has managed the growth of the firm since then. Andrew qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1988 in the Sheffield office of one of the region’s largest independent accountancy practices. Here he gained significant experience of managing a large portfolio of clients before he became a full-time corporate finance specialist.
Jackie Saunders - Company Treasurer
Jackie has been a partner at Allotts Chartered Accountants since 1989. She heads up the Business Services Division for the practice. She has a wide portfolio of work with the emphasis on a significant number of corporate, charitable and public sector clients. She obtained a degree in Business Studies at Sheffield University and qualified with Ernst and Young in 1980. She then joined Allotts as a manager in 1987.
Martin Ross - Pro Sheffield Director (Media)
Martin also has more than 30 years experience in the media, fulfilling roles as news editor and assistant editor at The Star and then editorial development manager for United Provincial Newspapers.
Alastair Watson - Pro Sheffield Director (Banking)
Alastair has been working in South and West Yorkshire for the last 15 years. He has recently joined HSBC.
His latest position as Commercial Relationship Director is working with SME customers in the £10m to £25m sales sector looking at a wide range of industries, particularly businesses which trade internationally.
Alastair has spent his banking career of over 30 years specialising in business banking and the issues faced by growth and expansion. He also has experience working in west Yorkshire as well as London and the Midlands returning to his home town of Sheffield in 2006.
Tan Khan - Pro Sheffield Director (Property)
A Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer with over twenty five years experience in structural engineering design, Tan is Regional Director at Capital Symonds responsible for the Operational Management of the Structural Division with a construction value exceeding £1bn.
John Warner - Pro Sheffield Director (Accountancy)
John is a Partner of Barber Harrison & Platt in Sheffield with responsibility for Corporate Finance. He has been with Barber Harrison & Platt since 1977 and was made a Partner in 1987.
Rosemary Downs of Keeble Hawson Solicitors has been elected to the board of Pro-Sheffield. Rosemary, who leads Keeble Hawsons' Corporate and Business Services Department, was elected to the board of directors by fellow legal colleagues from Pro-Sheffield member firms.
Paul Fauset - Pro Sheffield Director (Young Professionals)
Paul is an Associate Director of Corporate Finance within chartered accountancy firm Hawsons, where he specialises in advising companies on mergers and acquisitions. Paul holds an MBA with distinction and is a Fellow of the Securities & Investment Institute.
In addition to being a member of the board of Directors, Paul is the chair of Pro-Sheffield’s Young Professionals Group.
Jill Boyington - Executive Manager
Jill joined Pro Sheffield in November 2006 following 10 years as manager and events co-ordinator and of a national charity. She left Australia in 1983 to work abroad, initially at the Australian Embassy in former Yugoslavia and then in various countries before settling in Sheffield.
